A new AusPoll graphic has revealed One Nation on 30%, Labor on 27%, the Coalition on 18%, the Greens on 13% and Others on 12%, confirming Australia is now browsing federal politics like a tired shopper in the reduced-to-clear section.
Pollsters say the DemosAU sample of 1,497 voters shows a dramatic shift. Aunties say it shows the country has once again gone to the ballot box hungry, angry and dangerously close to buying whatever has the loudest packaging.
From an Indigenous perspective, the numbers are not just about party politics. They are about a nation forever promising “a fresh start” while keeping the receipt from 1788 in the glovebox. Every election, someone says they’ll listen to First Peoples. Then they form a committee, commission a report, rename a grant stream and act surprised when the same communities are still waiting.
The Coalition’s 18% result has prompted concern, though experts say it may recover if watered daily and kept out of direct relevance.
The Greens held steady, Others rose, and democracy remains technically alive, though currently making a strange noise near the dashboard.
