NDIS Provider Rebrands As "Culturally Appropriate" After Googling The Word For Ten Minutes

DARWIN – A fresh wave of NDIS providers has descended on remote First Nations communities, offering culturally tailored services from companies that were registered eleven days ago and are run out of a serviced office in Parramatta.

Advocates are calling for oversight, which the sector has responded to by adding the word “oversight” to its marketing.

“Every single one of our staff has completed cultural awareness training,” one provider announced, referring to a forty-minute YouTube video watched at 2x speed. “We are proud to walk alongside community, usually with an invoice.”

Community members said the tell is always the same: a new logo with a dot painting the provider has not licensed, a four-wheel drive with the stickers still bubbling and a director who pronounces Country wrong on the voicemail.
