A one-night concert bringing together Indigenous and Pacific artists will take place in Magandjin/Brisbane on 6 March, with organisers describing the show as a lead-in to a broader appearance at WOMADelaide 2026.

Presented by Gaba Musik and The Princess Theatre, MEGANESIA will be staged at The Princess Theatre in Woolloongabba. The event is billed as a WOMADelaide side show, and is supported by Creative Nations, according to event information published by organisers and the venue.

Gaba Musik’s tour listing describes the show’s concept as a meeting point of music cultures across the region: “Fresh young talent direct from the streets of Port Moresby along side Bama, and Zenadth Kes Dancers and vocalists with one thing in common … MEGANESIA.” The lineup is positioned as connecting communities across Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Papua New Guinean worlds.

National Indigenous Times reporting on the event said the show will bring artists together ahead of their appearance at WOMADelaide, and framed it as part of Gaba Musik’s broader work “bringing Indigenous music to the forefront” while platforming artists across the region.

WOMADelaide, held on Kaurna Country at Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla from 6–9 March 2026, promotes itself as a festival of “music, arts and dance from around the world”, and lists MEGANESIA among its 2026 lineup. For many Indigenous artists, festival stages can create access to new audiences and new industry pathways, but there is also a growing push for Indigenous-led promotion and culturally safe production practices that respect artists’ communities, languages and protocols.

The Brisbane show forms part of that wider ecosystem: a locally staged event anchored in community-led presenting, with First Nations identity central rather than incidental. For audiences, it offers a chance to experience a regional cultural collaboration that moves between stagecraft and story and between the local and the international – all while foregrounding Indigenous creative authority.
