Mining Giant Hosts “Impact Workshop”, Announces New Metric: Feelings Per Dollar

BOORLOO/PERTH – A major resources company has gathered dozens of community partners for a two-day workshop focused on collaboration, measurable outcomes and social investment, because nothing says community like a breakout room…

Organisers said the goal is to share practical learnings and build stronger, more resilient communities. Participants agreed, noting the most resilient people in the room were the ones who survived the icebreaker activity without rolling their eyes into another dimension.

A spokesperson described the event as “impact-driven”, explaining impact is what happens when you put the words Safe Spaces, Partnership and Outcomes on the same slide and then ask everyone to clap.

Sessions highlighted the importance of data, platforms and measurement. Community workers said data is useful… but so is paying staff properly, funding services long-term and not making people prove their worth every quarter like a reality TV elimination round.

The workshop celebrated partnership success stories across health, youth, education and community safety. It also provided a safe space for attendees to practise saying “co-design” without immediately following it with “but the timeline is locked”.

One invented official quote was offered to close the day: “Real impact comes through listening… and we will listen as soon as the next session ends and the catering is cleared.”
