Netball clinic inspires kids after sponsors bravely deploy “role models” and two dozen hi-vis lanyards

CHERBOURG, QLD – A community sports session has delivered hope, high knees, and a suspiciously well-rehearsed media grab after a sponsored “Diamond for a Day” visit rolled through town with the precision of a travelling PR carnival.

Locals watched as kids ran drills, got tips, and learned the most important lesson in elite sport: how to smile naturally while someone says, “Just one more take, we didn’t get the logo in frame.”

The clinic reportedly focused on confidence and pathways, though several participants confirmed the hardest exercise was the “Handshake Circuit”, where every adult in polos formed a tunnel of congratulations while staff shouted, “Great energy, team!” like it was a national emergency.

A spokesperson for “the partnership” said the day was about “connecting community with opportunity” and “ensuring young people feel seen – preferably in 4K, from three angles, with captions.”

In a bold innovation, the event also included the “Community Consultation Stretch”, where everyone sat in a circle and nodded respectfully while someone read out a statement about “meaningful engagement” that sounded like it had been copy-pasted from a grant acquittal.

Witnesses say the most powerful moment came when the aunties quietly redirected the entire program to include water breaks, shade, and a stern reminder that “mob been inspiring each other since before your sponsorship deck existed.”
