GENEVA — Negotiators from the United States and Iran have returned to the table for nuclear talks, with both sides describing the atmosphere as “constructive” and “not at all tense if you don’t look directly at it.”
Sources inside the room said the parties opened with formal statements, then moved quickly into the practical work of arguing over commas, seating arrangements, and what the word “soon” means when translated into five different political calendars.
Diplomats confirmed a fresh framework is being explored, centred on measurable steps such as “confidence building,” “mutual respect” and “a shared commitment to pretending the last ten years didn’t happen.”
A spokesperson for the conference said progress was “tangible” – noting that everyone agreed to keep talking, keep meeting and keep issuing statements that sound like the start of a breakthrough but end like a weather forecast.
One delegate was seen carrying a folder labelled New Deal Final_FINAL v7 (Use This One).
