Woolworths Celebrates NAIDOC Week by Honouring Tradition of Price Gouging Indigenous Customers

In a striking tribute to historical traditions, Woolworths has unveiled its latest culturally sensitive initiative for NAIDOC Week: “Respectful Price Gouging”.

This revolutionary pricing model thoughtfully acknowledges the rich history of economic exploitation by ensuring Aboriginal customers pay significantly more for essential goods…

“We felt it was important to stay true to historical practices” announced a Woolworths Reconciliation Team spokesperson.

“After all, NAIDOC Week is about recognition and respect… and what better way to honour this than by maintaining the time-honoured tradition of economic disadvantage!?”

Critics pointed out that this approach might exacerbate existing inequalities but Woolworths assured customers that their intention was purely celebratory.

“We’re raising prices purely out of respect” the spokesperson clarified. “It’s our unique way of acknowledging Aboriginal heritage… by continuing the legacy of inequality.”

The supermarket giant hinted at potential future initiatives, including “Cultural Checkout Fees” and special edition “Colonisation Commemoration Coupons” designed to ensure that the tradition of profit through disadvantage remains robustly intact for generations to come.
