In a move described as “revolutionary” by absolutely no one from Indigenous communities, Andrew Smith has proudly launched his groundbreaking new app: Oversight Lite.

Specifically designed for white allies seeking to celebrate Indigenous businesses without ever challenging their personal comfort zones, the app’s innovative algorithms scan and filter Indigenous enterprises based purely on “non-threatening appeal”.

Key features include:

  • Comfort Meter™:
Carefully ranks Indigenous businesses based on their likelihood of not raising uncomfortable discussions about colonialism or systemic racism.
  • Safe Stories Alert:
Sends notifications to users whenever a suitable, feel-good Indigenous business achieves anything remotely notable, like a quaint café winning a local barista award.
  • Token Ally Tracker:
Allows users to keep track of their own performative engagement, providing badges for every superficial post or tokenistic mention on social media.

Andrew Smith explains enthusiastically, “Finally, white allies can easily spotlight Indigenous successes without addressing broader issues… it’s activism without anxiety!”

Smith has already announced future updates to Oversight Lite, including filters for specific “comfortable” sectors such as boutique tourism and handcrafted jewellery – ensuring users never inadvertently stumble across businesses engaged in advocacy, community rights or genuine social reform.
